BEKASI: Bekasi Police on Wednesday announced they had caught a motorcycle thief, confiscating from him a pistol and six live bullets.
Bekasi Police chief Sr. Comr. Chairul Anwar said the suspect, 18-year-old Fajar, was arrested last week in Rawalumbu, East Bekasi.
Fajar was shot in the foot by police as he attempted to flee.
Chairul said Fajar was part of the ""Lampung group"" whose members were wanted by police.
""Fajar confessed to his role in 25 crimes. The stolen bikes are usually sold to small showrooms in Karawang and Sukabumi, West Java, which sell them as secondhand motorcycles with fake documents,"" Chairul said.
Fajar, who is being held in the Bekasi Police detention center, is being questioned about his accomplices. --JP
