With reference to the letter from Philip Rich (The Jakarta Post, July 22), we, KPC Melati Worldwide, wish to point out the organization mentioned by Rich as KPC Melati is not our organization. We offer the following clarification in this matter:
There are two existing KPC Melati: One whose actual name is KPC Melati Tangan Ibu (www.kpcmelaticentre.com); and the other, which is our KPC Melati, well known as KPC Melati Worldwide or Melati Community Worldwide (www.kpcmelati.org). We, KPC Melati Worldwide, have no relationship or link of any kind with the KPC Melati mentioned by Rich.
KPC Melati Worldwide is not an organization of Indonesian women married to non-Indonesian men, as Rich stated. We are a mixed marriage community organization, whose members include Indonesian women married to foreign men and Indonesian men married to foreign women.
KPC Melati Worldwide has never provided or offered to provide services to its members with regard to organizing dual citizenship for their children or to related matters. We provide and distribute the clearest possible information to members all over the world regarding dual citizenship, such that members can organize their own applications and remain knowledgeable and informed about relevant regulations, thereby avoiding potential problems during presentation of their applications. These activities are provided free of charge.
Membership in KPC Melati Worldwide is free.
We regret what happened to Philip Rich's family and we condemn such bad behavior, which negatively affects the application process for dual nationality. This clarification has been made to avoid any misunderstanding concerning KPC Melati Worldwide's activities and to clarify our relation to the organization to which Rich referred.
