Thief drives car from house garage

JAKARTA: A thief stole a car from its owner's garage in Central Jakarta on Monday morning, a police report says.
Gaining access by cutting the house's steel fence, the thief used a fake key to start the car.
The 56-year-old owner tried to pursue the thief when he realized what had happened but found himself locked inside as the doors were tied from outside. The phone line was also cut.
The case is still being investigated by the Sawah Besar police, who do not yet know how many people may have been involved. -- JP
