Transport officers get traffic training

DENPASAR: Up to 30 employees of the Denpasar Transportation Agency attended a training course Tuesday to hone their basic working knowledge and skills in traffic regulations, traffic rerouting and terminal operation and management.
Head of the training committee I Wayan Gunawan said the annual course was intended mainly to improve practical knowledge among the city's transportation officers.
"We expect the course will help them improve their working aptitude especially when it comes to handling traffic jams," Gunawan said.
Three factors general contribute to traffic tie-ups: the community, traffic officers and the infrastructure, he said.
"We hope the public will take an active role in our efforts to minimize traffic congestion," Gunawan added. -- JP
