Crocker dominates Kalimantan rally

PENAJAM PASER UTARA, East Kalimantan: Cody Crocker and his navigator Sean Gelael of Serge Rally Team earned the top step of the podium at Gudang Garam International Rally Championship 2008 after winning the second day rally in Penajam Paser Utara regency, East Kalimantan, on Sunday.
The first day leaders extended their control over the race in the country's season-ending tour to clock the fastest time of 1 hour, 38 minutes and 25.08 seconds in 11 special stages.
"I enjoyed the race. I have a very young navigator, but he is a great talent," Crocker said of his co-driver, 14-year-old Sean.
Trailing in second place was national champ Rifat Sungkar, who teamed up with navigator Bill Hayes, with 1hr 41min 34.71sec. Rifat's younger brother, Rizal Sungkar with co-driver Anthony Sarwono, came third with 1hr 41min 54.18sec. --JP/Nurni Sulaiman
