I Made Mangku Pastika, the police general who led the Bali bomb investigation team, is the newly elected governor of Bali. What should he do to keep Bali as a leading international tourist destination?
My answer is: He should give high priority to managing the environmental problems that risk making Bali ugly! This will mean exerting real leadership over the districts - no easy job, I know.

Thats sounds ok, keep goin ^^
Best Regards,
He must take The Bali back to Bali. He must make The Bali be Bali, don't make The Bali be Jakarta or any places else. Don't wait till tomorrow, or The Bali will be sink. Do the best Bapak Mangku, don't forget make good government, clean government from any kinds of corruptions. Congratulations Bapak Mangku.
congrats Mr. Made.
try to prioritize safety , comfortability and make a lot of promo event to invite foreigners. Everybody knows Bali is a beautiful island.
go to fight !!!!!
just be realistic, since when tourism make the balinese prosper, ordinary balinese might be able to own a small shop close to the beach or around kuta, but who's own those fancy hotels,mansions,villas?..dont blame terorist or islamic extremist bullshit, bali is not more different with any other island or province in indonesia, every place in indonesia are different from one another, that is make indonesia unique, what bali and other places in indonesia needs is a capable leader who can answer to its constituent for promises they made during the campaign, selamat bapak made, all the best :)
He should work very very hard to brıng Balı more prosperıty for
all local people fırst, make a new rule and new regulatıon to gıve more benefıte for local people. He cannot just lay down enjoy the succes what he got ın hıs lıfe for hıs famıly only.He must really thınk to brıng really better lıfe for ballınese ın next10 or 20 year.Balı ıs the only one ısland has ıt own strong caracterıstıc,srongly own unıque dıferent from others ın thıs world must also work really extra hard, otherwıse gonna same thıng lıke the past reıgn we had and better Balı wıthout gubernor at all.He ıs now ın power and must show hıs power posıtıvely,do more!! after all ım just a pıtty balınese must work overseas to get my profer wage.cos salary ın balı was really really very small
Thank to put my comment
Prioritize Safety ...
The rest will turn alright ...
Governor-elect Pastika should assert provincial control over development, so that the rules are clear and enforced, both Balinese and foreign investors can enjoy certainty, and the all-pervasive local-level under-the-table bribe system is eliminated.
The Courts need to adjudicate and enforce contracts, not debate them as conceptual issues.
Bali needs an overall development plan - including environmental planning - that is actual rather than theoretical. It too needs to be enforced (which means it first needs to be negotiated and agreed and then legislated - good luck).
The road system in the south is a mess. Bali needs to come to grips with flyovers (preferably) or at least the concept of roundabouts.
Bapak Made must be aware of the dangers of over-development of Bali's beautiful coastline and to ensure that effective coastal planning and conservation laws are in place and upheld without question, based on international and domestic best practice. There are some wonderful natural places, including villages, that shouldn't be covered by concrete and have their access restricted to paying foreign tourists while the villagers and small warung are kicked out. A sad example is Pantai Putih near Candi Dasa.
Keep Bali and Balinese safe from Muslim extremists either from Java or Lombok.
We love to visit Bali because its people.
The Balinese are peaceful people, friendly and made us foreigner feel welcome at their place.
My salute and congratulations to Mr. Made Mangku Pastika from PDIP.
