PNM holds Safety Riding training to optimize employee safety

T

hrough its affiliated PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM), PT Mitra Utama Madani (MUM) pays attention to the work safety of its employees, especially high-mobility employees who regularly commute on motorcycles. Safety awareness, understanding and implementation of good driving practices were the main focus of the Safety Riding training on March 5, in Bandung, West Java, in collaboration with the Bandung City Police.

President director of PT MUM, Gung Panggodo, advised PNM Mekaar employers, especially account officers (AOs) to always drive while abiding by prevailing regulations and carry their license with them. "Safe riding is an understanding of driving etiquette, which refers to applying safety standards to create safety for themselves and other riders. Therefore, today we're holding the Safety Riding training to bring awareness on good driving behavior to Mekaar account executives in the Bandung area," he said.

He added that one factor contributing to traffic accidents is human error. Therefore, he expects Mekaar AOs to always stay focused on the road, bring the required documents and pay attention to the road condition." Mekaar AOs are the spearhead of PNM and the nation's endeavors to revive the economy. So, we must remind them of the importance of this Safety Riding training to increase their driving proficiency."

Also attending was the head of the Bandung City Police Traffic Division, Sr. Comr. Rislam Harfia. He appreciated PT MUM's efforts in bolstering the public's awareness as pioneers of safe driving. He hoped that Mekaar AOs would become role models for other drivers to follow. "If they drive responsibly while wearing their uniforms, the public will regard the PNM Mekaar AOs as exemplary drivers. That makes them a role model for traffic safety," he said in front of hundreds of Mekaar AOs from the Bandung area.

This Safety Riding training in Bandung will kick off a series of other training events across West Java. The aim is to prevent an increasing number of traffic accidents among employees. The events will also allow PT MIM to hold mass recruitment in those areas. They will be targeting high school and vocational school graduates between 18 and 22 to be stationed around PNM Mekaar branches in West Java.

PNM has 3,673 service offices throughout Indonesia, serving micro and small enterprises in 34 provinces, 443 regencies and cities, and 5,006 districts. Mekaar PNM customers in West Bandung, Bandung City, amount to 381,682, thus making it the region with the highest number of customers in the Bandung Regency area.
