he North Sumatra Police have arrested two members of the Pemuda Pancasila youth organization for allegedly attacking two Deli Serdang Prosecutor’s Office officials with machetes.

North Sumatra Police General Crime Investigation Director Brig. Gen. Sumaryono said the two suspects, identified only as APL and SD, were arrested separately on Sunday, less than 24 hours after the alleged assault.

"According to the initial investigation, APL, who currently serves as the deputy vice chair of the Pemuda Pancasila chapter in Deli Serdang, allegedly ordered SD to carry out the attack," Sumaryono said on Sunday.

"We're still investigating the motive behind the alleged assault," he added.

Sumaryono said both suspects were previously convicted of robbery. APL is also under investigation for his alleged role in an armed robbery at a private company in January.

“APL, along with four accomplices who are still at large, stole Rp 232 million (US$14,300) during the robbery. They carry firearms and are willing to use violence against their victims,” he said.
